My name is Nina Nechama Gilshteyn and I am a Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology Major at UCLA. I am also minoring in biomedical research. My favorite biology topics are multucellularity and differential gene expression/regulation. These topics allign with my value of cooperation because multicellular organisms demonstrate the metaphorical harmony of a diverse group. Every cell and group of cells has something to contribute to this world! ​

I am Maya Kardouh, a third year MCDB major and pre-med student at UCLA. I am currently working on a project involving Hematopoietic Stem Cells (HSCs) and hope to share my results on the MLS website. I hope that my work will be a relevant contribution to the research field. Other than that, I am involved in UCLA's Brain Exercise Initiative volunteer club and Care Extenders at Ronald Reagan Hospital. In my free time, I love to listen to music, watch movies and real crime shows, or talk a walk with a loved one.

Assuming chronic sleep deprivation does not instigate my untimely death, I aspire to be a neurosurgeon one day. Sabeeca Vadakkan

Hello! My name is Sabeeca Vadakkan and I am one of the Publication Co - directors for the Biomedical Research Society this year! I’m a senior majoring in Biology (and a second - year transfer student). I currently work in the Hill Lab, where my project focuses on identifying novel microtubule inner proteins in the flagella of Trypanosoma brucei, a unicellular eukaryotic parasite. In the future, I hope to pursue a career involved in some aspect of research. When I’m not busy with classes or research, I’m usually honing my paper folding skills and attempting modular origami.
